part of our grass-roots vision to help you live green in an affordable manner, we
are now working with several local farmers in the NE North Carolina
and SE Virginia areas. Michele's networking abilities have given us
access to fresh, clean food and products. This creates a "sustainable"
community or network, meaning that farmers have guaranteed sales for
their goods and, with no "middle man", members receive deeply discounted
groceries that are even cheaper than the conventional food in your local
grocery store! The larger the membership, the higher the demand, and the
more farmers and other suppliers will see the need to meet that demand
without the tedium and expense of hauling their wares to conventional
points of sale that buy only limited stock. This is a
WIN-WIN scenario - the farmer makes
a fair trade wage and the end buyer pays less for local, nutritionally
dense food!
Even if you don't eat organic on principle, you still save BIG!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
This arrangement does mean that there will be a bit of forethought and
planning on your end. Since you will be able (not
have) to buy in larger quantities
(bulk), you'll need to plan ahead. You'll be able to access this site to
see exactly what will be available from each farmer (including their
member "specials") and how much you'll spend for each pickup. You
will then order from each farm online through this website, and pay via
PayPal with your debit/credit card. You will see the delivery date to
the host home in your area and make plans to pick up your order within
24 hours. You shop online, pay online, then make one trip to your
host home. It's just that simple!
Everybody wins!
AND. . . at least once a month, we'll have a farmer's market
in Elizabeth City where you'll pick up your orders, and have some fun in
the sun with your family! We plan to have booths for crafts and other
things of interest to you, as well as healthy food and treats for lunch
on the grounds!
